REKUIEM Plans New Album, Live DVD

REKUIEM (formerly REQUIEM),the cult NWOBHM band that was at the very start of the British metal movement alongside such names as DIAMOND HEAD and WITCHFINDER GENERAL, has posted the following message on its official web site:

"Work will very soon start on a brand new REKUIEM album, as yet untitled. The record is planned for release early-to-mid 2007. The band also plan to play live shows from early 2007 onwards, which will hopefully include a few high-profile festival appearances in the summer of 2007. Sometime during this period REKUIEM also hope to shoot a live DVD for fans who are not able to catch the band live. The DVD will hopefully feature all the classic tracks from 'Time Will Tell' along with a few new songs from the planned new studio album."

In 1980, REQUIEM issued their first and last single, the self financed "Angel of Sin" on Sacrificial Records. The single was backed by "Sacrificial Wanderer" and was issued without a picture sleeve. It is now incredibly rare and somewhat of a collectors item for NWOBHM fanatics.

REKUIEM's debut album, "Time Will Tell", was released earlier in the year via Majestic Rock.
